I went with a couple of friends for a New Year's Eve meal and had a pleasant time. I had never tried dry pot before so I was a bit nervous (I love soup :') but I liked it! The price was good for the amount of food we got but the dishes did take awhile to arrive. It could just be a holiday thing though. Two medium pots was the perfect amount of food for 4 pretty big eaters; we chose fish and beef as our meats and spicy and garlic as our flavors. I liked the crunchiness of the fish a lot and the garlic flavor was also great. Overall a solid place for dry pot!

Overall a great experience for the portion size and flavor, easy to order and customize add on ingredients for delivery Ordered garlic dry pot flavor. Beef short ribs were tasty, well marinated. Plentiful and pretty tender to come off the bone. Veggies in the dry pot include broccoli, cauliflower, celery, bean sprouts, and a few pieces of potato Added on cabbage, black fungus wood-ear mushrooms, and bean curd sticks "Medium spicy" while good was still fairly spicy (light nose sniffles). I'd recommend casual eaters to go for "mild spicy". Beware of "very spicy" and "crazy spicy" Filling takeout spot and can portion out more meals if you make your own rice at home. After all the add-ons it was approximately $45-50 and should feed 3 people, or 2 very hungry people. Without add-on ingredients closer to $30-35

The lady told me the medium size sizzling pot wouldn't be too much for one person. That was drastically incorrect. Luckily, this type of food makes for good leftovers and I really liked my lamb one. I got it full spicy and they really give it to you if you ask for it. I think it would be too hot for most people so I'd go with a medium the first time.

Good food, and perfect location fr my hotel on 7th St. I had ordered the pork potstickers & vegetarian chow mein. It def hit the spot. Service was ok. She was trying to multi task as best as she could. If I'm ever in the area/same hotel... I'll know where to go for some Chinese food now. Keep it up Sizzling Pot King.

"Build your own" dry pot in SOMA! There were lots of options for ingredients to put in your pot as well as flavors, both spicy and not spicy. I would definitely recommend getting rice if you get their numbing spicy flavor to "dilute" the heat. We got 2 larges and an appetizer to share between 5 people and had some leftovers to take home. The staff was friendly but would sometimes forget to bring some things out until we asked. I'd come again.

I ordered the Signature Dry Pot through Fantuan Delivery, opting for pick-up. Alongside the flavorful array of ingredients like potato, cauliflower, celery, and soybean sprouts, I also couldn't resist adding their pork ear, which turned out to be the highlight of the meal! For protein, I went with the Griddle-cooked beef, and it didn't disappoint. The flavors were simply fantastic. The medium spiciness combined with the mala sensation provided a delightful balance, with just the right amount of heat. The numbing effect added an extra layer of excitement to every bite

If you're looking for authentic Hunan-style Chinese food in western SoMa, you've found the spot. The menu has recently expanded to include more delectable dishes, including the ones pictured here. Keep in mind that the dishes all tend to run on the spicy side and the portions are intended to share. Hope you enjoy their menu as much as we do!

Loved how efficient the people are here. I love how the owner manages a full time job and helping the restaurant at night! We ordered pork intestines and shrimp, and a bunch of veggies. They are all very tasty. I love how them deep fired everything before mixing with their sauce. Also, they adopted the rice serving from northern China. They literally give you a lot of rice, so you don't have to pay one bowl after one bowl. The place is below their home and the vibe is very down to earth, and very old school. I would say they win people back for their decor, but the flavor and the authenticity. Will for sure come back.

Super authentic Sichuan food with large portions and great value. We came in for lunch and it was easy for a walk-in. However they are constantly prepping for takeouts. Guess folks love to enjoy it at home too. Not only excellent quality to the cooking and generous portions: the food brings back memories of visiting Sichuan. I would recommend ordering mild spicy Bc it's Sichuan pepper corn: it builds up and you can feel the heat and numbing sensation as you gorge yourself. I love the fried steam mantou/bun. Wholeheartedly recommend you try it out yourself. For Entree, we got the large combo for $32. We couldn't finish it between 2 full grown boys. We had some "exotic meat" options of frog and beef tongue combo. Was great. The place is pretty clean and there's some parking around but always be aware of your surroundings. Peace.
